Story

Born from a pain

LizPilot started on a car openpilot didn't support. Making openpilot work on it meant testing, measuring and fixing, drive after drive. And three problems showed up.

The three pains

An unsupported car

Every tweak to steering, brake and gas had to be proven on the road, and the log was the only witness.

The comma 4's small screen

Seeing what openpilot was doing and changing an option on a 536 × 240 screen was slow and hard, even more so inside the car.

Marking what happened

A zigzag or an odd brake got lost in hours of log. There was no way to mark the moment and note why.

The answer

So came LizPilot

  • The phone became the comma's big screen. Everything in view, with room to read and adjust with the car parked.
  • Marks with a note. One tap saves the time and place, and the note tells what happened.
  • Missions confirmed in the log. Every feature proven in daily driving, not by impression.
  • What worked for one car works for all. In November 2026, LizPilot started going to every car openpilot supports.

None of this would exist without Alexandre Sato. He reverse-engineered the Haval H6 and made its first openpilot port: the map of the car's messages, the harness and the first parameters. The project started from his work, in October 2026. Sato's work on GitHub.
